Our classes, taught by highly educated teaching artists, challenge students to push their creative limits, think differently, explore their own capabilities and come away from each class with a heightened sense of self and confidence.


If you sign up for 2 or 3 classes, there will be an automatic 10% discount applied. If you sign up for 4 or more classes there will be a 25% discount applied. We offer a payment plan. Payment for a 6 week class session can be split into two payments, with the first payment due upon enrollment. The second payment is due 11/7.

Acting 1 - Intro to Acting

Wednesdays 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm 6 Weeks / Ages 9 to 11

The BEST place to start!! This course will offer younger students an introduction to stage directions, character play, acting games, working with an ensemble/cast, and early pantomime work. Ms. Aly always ensures a TON of fun while instilling the fundamental skills for beginning a strong acting journey!

Acting 2 - Intermediate Acting

Continue that acting journey as we dive a little deeper into theatrical FUN! Students will have an introduction to script analysis, scene work, cold readings & monologues. Hilarious and fast-on-your-feet improvisation games will help to build stronger “stage thinking” skills. We will also come away with a better understanding of the actor’s strongest tool/instrument on the stage….the BODY! How does breath work? How does my voice work? How do my arms and legs work? Let’s figure it all out!
 

Acting 3 - Advanced Acting

CALLING ALL DRIVEN PERFORMERS!! This course will offer an intensive scene study and character exploration journey. We will cover script analysis with a scene partner AND an ensemble. Students will hone their improvisation skills for performance and everyday life situations. Much of this material will be an introduction to college and/or community theatre audition prep. Let’s get you ACTING FOR REAL!

Acting Up 1

Come clown around! Students will learn basic acting techniques; how to project and exaggerate body movements to better prepare them for their future on stage. Through acting games, they will learn
different ways too express emotions using storylines and role play…a fun way to burn some energy in a positive, fun and safe environment.

Land the Role! Auditioning 101

Thursday 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm

Auditions have been announced….so, NOW WHAT?! This course will help in preparing for school, CTSMD or any community theatre/professional productions. Students will learn how to “slate”, what to have in their repertoire, how to handle nerves/energy, how to cut a song to an appropriate length, cold read from sides, what monologue to choose, and what to sing. Put those auditioning woes at ease…you GOT this!

Ballet

Tuesday 5:30 pm to 6:30
6 Weeks / Ages 8 to 18

This is not a typical classical ballet class. This is more modern and fun than you probably realize. Our class is about the structure of dance and building a functional foundation that will help students in all disciplines of dance.  The music is more relatable.  Ballet is important as it helps students build a strong dance foundation and can be used in many different ways, leading to better overall dance understanding.  Fun and energetic… no elevator music here.

Hip Hop

Tuesday 7:30 pm to 8:30 pm
6 Weeks / Ages 8 to 14

Learning isolations, flow and freestyle and applying them to the music. Students will be encouraged to try various hip hop styles and find their groove.

Duo Voice

Mon and Thurs 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm
6 Weeks / Ages 7 to 18

These lessons have all the advantages of the individualized attention that comes with private voice lessons, but with the added bonus of singing with a friend. Classes will be tailored to the students’ needs, skill level and interests and will include the following topics:

  • Technique & Vocal Health
  • Extending the Vocal Range
  • Repertoire
  • Intonation/Pitch
  • Phrasing • Rhythm
  • Song Interpretation
  • Stage Presence
  • Audition Prep
  • Ear Training
  • Basic Music Theory
  • Blending
  • Harmonization Basics

Students will learn all of the above, will be given the opportunity to sing as a solo performer or as a duo with their classmate, and make lifelong musical friends in this one-of-a-kind coaching setting. There will be a performance opportunity at the conclusion of this 6-week session.

Duo Voice

While we believe that establishing a solid technique and foundation is essential to becoming a strong and adept singer, we also place a high importance on helping students to gain confidence in themselves and their performance ability so that they can go on to experience a lifetime of joy-filled music making. Our goal is to not only teach the basics of healthy singing and accomplished musicianship, but to always find a way to help struggling singers regardless of background or skill level, to impart an understanding of how to communicate emotion through song to touch the heart and soul of the listener, and, most importantly, to always foster a love of singing.

These one-on-one private voice lessons will be tailored to the students’ needs, skill level and interests and will include the following topics:

  • Technique & Vocal Health
  • Extending the Vocal Range
  • Repertoire
  • Intonation/Pitch
  • Phrasing
  • Rhythm
  • Song Interpretation
  • Stage Presence
  • Audition Prep
  • Ear Training

Shake It Up - Intro to Shakespeare

In an abridged setting, students will study Shakespeare scenes and learn to establish scenery using only their bodies and 4 chairs! This a fun introduction to the world of Shakespeare that allows young actors to interpret the dialogue how ever they please; everything from a monologue, to 8-person scenes.

Stars 2B

The purpose of this course is to provide basic level students musical theatre training in dance, voice, and acting through the lens of the Broadway show.

Jazz

Learning techniques that make for a strong, smart dancer. Mastering fun, big movements to match the rhythm of the music, and make that music come to life! Explore a wide array of styles, including Fosse, commercial and contemporary jazz

Tap

Learn the fundamentals of tap by working through center floor exercise, across the floor and combos. Work on rhythm and coordinations!

Creative Movement

Wednesday 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm

Discovering movement by using self space vs. general space, pathways and directions, tempo, levels, shapes, focus, energy and relationship through story and dance.

Teen Tap

Tuesday 6:30 pm to 7:30

Learn the fundamentals of tap by working through center floor exercise, across the floor and combos. Work on rhythm and coordination.

Teen Ballet

Teen Jazz

Tuesday 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm
6 Weeks / Ages 13 to 18
This class teaches a high energy form of dance that comes from European and African dance origins. Lots of movement, and lots of fun with up-tempo music from all genres. Jazz is the most used dance style in musical theater performances and is typically the premier audition style for higher education dance institutions. In this class you will enjoy learning choreography and technique which includes leaps, turns and kicks.
